Terms and Conditions
1. Definitions and Business Status
A. For the purpose of these terms and conditions, the service provider shall be referred to as ‘The Daily Reset by Mel’ (also referred to as "I", "me", or "my").The customer receiving the service shall be referred to as the ‘client(s)’. The term ‘client(s)’ includes the client's spouse, partner, or authorized representative.
B. The Daily Reset by Mel reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. An up-to-date copy will always be available on our website or provided directly upon request.
2. Payment Terms
A. Upfront Payment: Payment for all scheduled house resets must be paid 100% upfront via a secure Stripe payment link.
B. Booking Confirmation: Upfront payment is strictly required to secure your calendar slot. An appointment will not be confirmed or added to the schedule until the payment has been successfully processed.
C. Gratuities/Tips: While tips are never expected, they are appreciated. If you wish to leave a tip for exceptional service, these can be accepted as cash or via direct bank transfer.
3. Scheduling, Cancellations, and Statutory Rights
A. Statutory 14-Day Right to Cancel: In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, where this agreement is entered into off-premises (such as during an in-person home consultation), the client has a statutory right to cancel this contract within 14 days of agreement without giving any reason, and receive a full refund of any monies paid.
B. Early Performance Consent: If the client requests a scheduled clean to take place within this 14-day statutory cancellation period, they must provide express consent for the service to begin. The client acknowledges that once the service has been fully performed within this window, the right to cancel that specific service is lost. This consent is captured via a stored, timestamped, and auditable digital record at the time of quote acceptance.
C. Routine Cancellations: Outside of the statutory 14-day cancellation period, a dedicated time slot is reserved exclusively for your home. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a strictly enforced 50% cancellation fee, and the remaining 50% will be refunded or credited to a future booking at your preference.
D. Late Cancellations and Lockouts: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or instances where access to the property cannot be gained at the agreed time (due to lockouts, forgotten keys, or pets blocking entry), will incur a 100% cancellation fee, and no refund or credit will be issued.
E. Service Cancellations by Me: In the highly unlikely event that I must cancel your service due to an emergency, severe illness, or vehicle breakdown, you will be offered your choice of either a full, immediate refund for that session or an alternative rescheduled date.
F. Annual Leave and Holidays: I will provide ample advance written notice of my scheduled holiday dates. You will not be charged for any visits missed due to my planned annual leave.
G. Price Reviews: I reserve the right to review and adjust my pricing annually or if the structural specifics or requirements of your property significantly change. A minimum of 30 days' written notice will be provided prior to any rate adjustment.
H. First-Visit Quote Revision: If upon arrival for the first clean, the property condition materially differs from the intake data provided during the estimate, I reserve the right to revise the final quote before any work commences.
4. Keys, Home Access, Parking, and Safety
A. Safe Storage: For clients who choose not to be present during service hours, any keys, fobs, or alarm codes provided will be held with absolute security and confidentiality. Keys will never be labeled with the client's name or full address.
B. Return of Keys: All keys held will be returned immediately to the client upon the formal termination of the service agreement.
C. Parking and Access: The client is responsible for ensuring free, safe parking and unobstructed access to the property. Where free parking is unavailable (such as restricted village centers or paid parking zones), any parking fees incurred must be covered by the client.
D. Health Hazards: I reserve the right to immediately refuse to clean specific areas if they pose a genuine health or safety hazard (including unmanaged pest infestations, extensive hazardous mould, or biohazards/bodily fluids).
5. Insurance, Breakages, and Liabilities
A. Public Liability: For your complete peace of mind, The Daily Reset by Mel carries comprehensive Public Liability Insurance up to £1m.
B. Notice of Damage: In the rare event of accidental damage or breakage occurring during a clean, the client must report it to me as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any event within 7 days of the service being completed.
C. Exclusions: While I treat your home with the utmost pride and care, I cannot be held liable for pre-existing damage, items that are not properly secured (such as unstable shelving or loose fixtures), or highly fragile/sentimental heirlooms. Clients are required to point out or securely store away any highly delicate items before the service begins.
6. Complaints, Satisfaction Guarantee, and Remedies
A. Guarantee: My goal is your absolute satisfaction. If you feel an area of your home was not reset to my rigorous standards, please report it within 48 hours of the clean.
B. Redress: If a specific area was missed or unsatisfactory, I will return to inspect and re-clean that specific area free of charge at the earliest opportunity in the first instance, limited to one re-clean per visit. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain entirely unaffected.
7. Termination
A. Notice Period: For regular, recurring weekly or fortnightly clients, either party may terminate the ongoing cleaning agreement by giving exactly two weeks' notice in writing via email or text.
8. Data Protection
A. Privacy: The Daily Reset by Mel holds and processes basic personal data (such as your name, address, email, and contact number) strictly for the purposes of scheduling, invoicing, and service management. Your data is protected securely, never shared with third parties, and retained only as long as legally required.
9. Legal Jurisdiction
A. Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performing their obligations due to factors outside their reasonable control (such as extreme weather, severe illness, or major vehicle breakdowns).
B. Governing Law: English Law governs this agreement, and both parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
