Privacy Notice

Hello, I'm Mel, the founder and operator of The Daily Reset by Mel. I provide premium domestic cleaning services in Clitheroe and the surrounding Ribble Valley villages.

I respect your privacy and am deeply committed to protecting your personal data. This notice explains what information I collect, both when you visit my website and when you become a client, why I need it, and how I keep it safe.

The Short Version: Nothing Is Stored On My Website

Your privacy is incredibly important to me. I have built this website so that absolutelyno personal data is stored on it. There are no databases, no customer accounts, and no saved form submissions living on the website infrastructure itself. Enquiries are forwarded straight to my email inbox.

If you go on to become a client, I do keep records about you and your home so that I can do the job properly. Those records live in my email and on my own device, never on the website. There is a section on this below.

What Data I Collect and Why

When you fill out my online enquiry form to request an estimate, I collect the following details so that I can accurately assess your service needs and get in touch with you:

I collect and process this basic personal data strictly for the purposes of responding to your enquiry, scheduling, and providing you with an accurate estimate for my services. My lawful basis for processing this data is to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, as well as my legitimate interest in operating my business.

How Your Data is Handled

  1. The Enquiry Form: When you hit submit, the website securely forwards your details directly to my private email inbox and immediately discards the information.
  2. Third-Party Processors: To make this happen securely, I use a select few trusted technology providers:
    • Cloudflare: Hosts the website, handles the secure routing of your enquiry form, and protects the site against spam.
    • Resend: Securely transmits your enquiry form data from the website to my email.
    • Microsoft 365: Hosts my secure email inbox where I read and reply to your messages.

Cookies, Analytics, and Spam Protection

I do not use tracking cookies, which is why you will not see a cookie consent banner on this site.

How Long I Keep Your Data

I do not keep your personal data for longer than I need it. Because every enquiry is different, I use the following criteria to decide how long to keep information rather than applying a single fixed period.

If your enquiry does not lead to a booking. I keep your enquiry only for as long as it is useful: to reply to you, to deal with any follow-up you send, and to keep a short working record of enquiries in my service area. I review these periodically and delete them once they are no longer needed for those purposes.

If you go on to book. I keep your details for as long as you remain a client. Once our working relationship ends, I keep only the records I am required to keep for accounting, tax and legal purposes. For financial records this is normally six years from the end of the relevant tax year, in line with HMRC requirements.

You can ask me to delete your data at any time, and I will do so unless I am legally required to keep it. See Your Rights below.

If You Book: The Consultation and My Client Records

Before I quote, I visit your home for a free, no obligation consultation. So that I can price the work fairly and then clean it properly, I make a record of the property. This normally includes:

These records are kept in my email inbox and on my own device. They are not uploaded to my website and are not shared with anyone else. I take photographs only of the property, not of people.

If you would rather I did not photograph something, just say so and I will note it in writing instead.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

I will never sell your data, share it with third parties for marketing purposes, or use it for automated decision-making or profiling. My website and services are strictly designed for domestic households and are not intended for children.

Contact Me

If you have any questions, want to exercise your data rights, or need to request the deletion of your data, please contact me directly at: [email protected].

The Daily Reset by Mel operates as a sole trader business.

I have assessed my processing against the Information Commissioner's Office self-assessment criteria. Based on that assessment, I am not required to pay the data protection fee or register with the ICO. I keep this under review and will register if the way I process personal data changes.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though I would always appreciate the chance to address your concerns personally first.

Changes to this notice: I keep this privacy notice under regular review. Any updates will be published directly on this page.
